What I find very strange with the recent increase in petrol prices and the various statements by the President that we cannot afford subsidies, is his tolerence of corruption within his cabinet and the congress. Should we be able to stem corruption or even curb it, would the savings made not be much greater than that made on removing subsidies from petroleum products?

I believe that you do not have to look so far as to the rising oil prices to see the corruption within our country, it is an ever present epidemic....if the rest of the oil rich economies raise the price on their Oil why shouldn't we??? I don't live In Nigeria at present, I am a student at the LSE in London, feel free to object my opinion and inform me of the current oil prices within Nigeria to its residents.
